Allan Peters designed poster for the Badge hunt talk.

Not only did the amazingly talented Allan Peters of Target come inspire us here at Yellow Shoes last week, he also designed this great poster for his event. They are 2 color on GMUND Bier Paper and we screen printed these by hand over at Hobo Press (my buddy Adam’s garage). Some (bad phone) pics from the printing session below. Enjoy!

Walt Disney World + The World Cup video shoot

This was a really awesome one to be involved with. We wanted to show that here at Walt Disney World we support the World Cup and all the excitement of the world coming together. We did it in the simplest, most fun way we could think of —juggling around our world. We used the official Brazuca World Cup 2014 game ball and we had some awesome help from some very talented jugglers too. the Futboleros, Indie Cowie, Jason Noblet, and more! The concepting team at Yellow Shoes on this were the amazingly talented creative team of David Brotherton (a huge soccer fan!) and Heather Keechel. David Guertin was our awesome producer on this and I was CD. Also, the hugely talented John Deeb of Deeb Studios helped us bring this to life. Many more talented folks were involved as well, again, one of the most fun projects I have had the pleasure to be involved with in quite a while. Hope you Enjoy!

A Very Merry Campaign

MVMCP_Logo_Vertical_2_ColorThe idea behind this year’s holiday campaign revolves all around the name of Mickey’s Christmas party – which you can see in a new VERY merry logo and over-the-top merry scenes. Since the party is a classic Christmas party at the Magic Kingdom, the style and tone of the campaign – from the hand-drawn logo to a traditional animated short – was inspired by the classic Disney shorts and vintage holiday greeting cards.

The illustrations also used a vintage style to match the animation and were used in a variety of media:

It was really fun to get to work with some very talented folks on this campaign. My creative team of super talent on this one was Diana, Brad, and Justin, who thought this whole thing up and saw it to fruition. Big thanks to Duck studios and some of our very talented animator friends for helping us bring back the classic Disney style 2-D animation of the late 30’s and 40’s. Also Todd Bright, who helped us do some amazing vintage feeling illustrations for the billboards and campaign imagery. And of course the amazing Dana Tanamachi who hand lettered and designed our Mickey’s Very Merry logo this year!

Finding Fantasyland

A case study video of some of our latest digital work for New Fantasyland. This was a group effort, from not only my team here at Yellow Shoes, but WDPRO, Imagineering, and our partners at North Kingdom and Mirada. I am really proud of how this experience/campaign turned out and all the hard work and hours the team put in on this one.
